Corrector love : Bobbi brown.

My favorite concealer is Nars radiant creamy concealer in custard. But when I didn't sleep well the night before I have to use a corrector under it to cover the darkness. Peach is a great color to counteract the purples or blue tones that we get when we are tired. 

My favorite corrector is Bobbi Brown corrector. Just so you know how much I love it. Check this picture...

CUP O' COFFEE: Lush new face and body mask.

When I want to relax and have some ME time, I do facial masks and exfoliating, a lot of exfoliating. A month ago I found this baby when I walked in Lush. According to the packaging this is a coarse but kind exfoliating mask. It is suitable for all over your face and body and brings out the best in your skin with a coffee lavender decoction that keeps things balanced. I maybe don't know about all that but it sure feels amazing with that smell ... I'm not much of a coffee drinker but I do love the smell, part of being Colombian and all.

I feel this mask wakes me up and makes me feel clean but what I like the most about it is how soft it leaves my skin. If you have over sensitive skin, ask for a sample because it is not a gentle mask. But if you get rashes on your body maybe even on your booty this will make your skin flawless and soft.

There you have it, not only good for a soft face but a happy booty.

TOP 6 BRONZERS: Mis favoritos.

Escogí estos de distintos acabados, de diferentes texturas y marcas. La variedad de precios no es mucha, todos son productos "high-end". Tengo más bronceadores que cualquier cosa en mi colección.  Estos seis los volvería a comprar cada vez que se acaben. Si solo quieres uno que te sirva para contorno y calidez en el rostro escoge uno matte y en polvo como Hoola o Laguna. Si quieres poder verte mas natural el de Chanel que es en crema puede ser tanto sutil como fuerte, pero si lo que prefieres es solo bronceado y tu piel no es grasa puedes usar uno que tenga más brillo como Betty-Loumanizer o Givenchy croisiere.

Autobronceo: para todos aquellos que no amamos el sol.

Siempre me ha pasado que he querido aplicar el método de broncearme 10 minutos todos los días para tener ese color doradito en la piel. Para mi, si bien el método funciona (porque he visto el resultado en otras personas), no me imagino todos los días en el sol, sudando, con sed, ansiosa por el sol en la cara... Bronceo con sol, no es para mi. Ni hablar de lo que envejece el sol.

En los últimos años mi adicción a los productos de belleza me ha llevado a encontrar soluciones alternativas. Algunas de alto mantenimiento, alto costo, y días oliendo a "coco viejo" (risas !!!). No tengo nada en contra de la piel pálida y blanca, pero cuando quiero un extra "umph" me bronceo.

Ahora mismo, mi producto favorito es el que menos mantenimiento ha requerido y el mas barato que he usado. Es una crema auto bronceadora gradual, la usas como usarías cualquier crema hidratante corporal y a los días la piel esta dorada. No sol, no arrugas, cero calor, algo de olor a coco pero nada que otros sientan. Estoy escribiendo sobre ella porque con tantos nuevos productos que pruebo me encontré comprándola nuevamente. Esto le da status de "no puedo vivir sin ella", cosa que pasa raramente en mi vida. 

Es recomendable que cuando la usen, sigan los pasos de cualquier autobronceador, bañarse, depilarse y exfoliarse bien. No deja marcas, ni parches y es parte de la rutina de todas las mujeres que les gusta cuidarse ponerse crema después de bañarse. Se seca rápido, no se transfiere a la ropa e hidrata la piel. 

Espero les sirva el dato a todas las "Blancanieves" que quieren un "algo extra" de vez en cuando.

Bronzer week: Semana de bronceadores

En mis primeros días maquillándome nunca usaba blush, ni bronceador y mucho menos iluminador. Pero los años pasaron y cuando use el primero me enamoré.

Mi primera compra de rubor fue un duo de NARS que incluía Orgasm blush y Laguna Bronzer, ambos "cult favorites" (productos más vendidos de la marca). 

Como se esta yendo el verano quería hacer del bronceador algo especial. Cuando usamos bronceador la cara se ve mejor, tiene dimensión, forma, definición. No quiere decir que sin bronceador la cara no se vea bien, pero para que vernos bien si podemos vernos increíbles.

El bronceador puede tener distintas funciones, podemos usarlo para contorno (definición y esconder cosas que no queremos que resalten) o para darle ya sea al rostro o el cuerpo la ilusion de que estuvimos bajo el sol.

En esta semana no solo hablaré del bronceador como polvo de maquillaje sino de mis favoritos en crema, como "primers"(premaquillaje), autobronceadores, bronceadores matte, bronceadores con brillo, los mejores para contorno, sombras que broncean los ojos.

Mac rose pigment : must-have.

If you love makeup, shimmery products. This is the pigment for you. I'm not that into pigments because they tend to be messy but they are also multipurpose. I have almost every shade of makeup geek pigments that are great in quality and way cheaper than Mac's pigments. But this "rose" has no dupe that I know in the makeup geek line.

If you are fair maybe you can pull this off as a blush topper, remember a little goes a very long way. But I have only used it in my eyes... To me the best application is with my fingers and always before foundation. If you are into the metallic eyeshadow finish you can also use a little bit of fix + and you will get less fallout. 

The swatch on left is with "fix +" it makes it look more intense the right one is without it. Still beautiful more sparkly.

Places to go: Wynwood walls - Miami

I fell in love with this place. It reminds me of New York (my favorite place in the world). This is a Williamsburg-ish kind of place. Art everywhere and little restaurants with boho style people everywhere. Not that many tourists. Loved the quotes on the sidewalk. If you like something different than drinking and partying this is the place to go. To write, to get inspiration. 

On the same block I found this Italian restaurant. The customer service was perfect and the food was divine. It is called "Joey's".... All I can say if you love fillet Mignon and your dessert of choice is chocolate you will find what you need.

What I'm wearing:

Betsey Johnson dress. Bought it years ago. Back to when Betsey did amazing big dresses. Is black Jean with a zipper on the front.

Shoes are Schutz shoes. Burgundy booties with peep toe and a zipper as well. I love this brand, they are not cheap but I love how comfortable the heels are.

Tip tuesday: Tired eyes.

Yesterday I saw this picture. If you are a person who wears makeup everyday or even if you don't and you feel you have tired eyes, concealer is the way to go. Let's put it this way if I was on an island I would go with my Nars radiant creamy concealer and my "better than sex" mascara and let the sun be my bronzer and blush.

If you have dark under eyes use a corrector first with peach or orange undertones just to color correct and then on top of that use a skin color concealer and you'll be good to go.
If you want the highlighted undereye look, grab your favorite concealer but in a few shades lighter and blend the edges with the same brush you used for your foundation. Always remember if you everything is blended your makeup will automatically be better. So blend until you have no harsh lines.

If you love the natural look then just use two dots of your concealer on the inner corner of the eye and let the warmth of your fingers melt the product on your skin and it will open up your eyes, even if you don't feel awake, you'll look more awake.

Motivation Monday: Detox your skin, enjoy your morning and do what you love.

Everyday you get a chance to do what you love, that's the motivational part of this blog today. I'm not always doing what I love but whatever I'm doing is always taking me closer to it. Whatever becomes "not my thing" but nevertheless the means to and end. That way when I get frustrated that I work the weekends I remember that I'm doing it for a reason, you just have to find "your reason". Mine is makeup and image consulting ... Start this Monday asking yourself : what do I love to do? And more importantly... Why the hell I'm not doing it ! 

Don't let your skin hate you, I'm a control freak and Monday for me is a starting over kind of day even when my week do not start today. As you guys know I wear makeup everyday and to prevent breakouts or to stop the ones I have I pamper myself with this amazing mask from Lush Cosmetics, it's called: Mask of magnaminty and I swear they have a unicorn crying to create this thing. Reduces pores, dries out breakouts, and cleanses your skin acting as an exfoliator too. 

The book is a part of what my learning process is...and the tea is just me loving my body. It is all about the LOVE you have towards you. Don't get old and say I wish I would've done that. Today is the day.

Selfies: ¿Afectan tu imagen ?

Selfie es un neologismo del inglés, empleado para referirse a una autofoto o autorretrato hecho por uno mismo con un teléfono inteligente (o smartphone), una cámara web (o web cam) o una cámara digital, para ser compartida, por lo general, a través de redes sociales o plataformas de microblogging, como Facebook, Instagram o Twitter.

Tomarse selfies puede ser una manera de promoverte en las redes sociales y de que te perciban mejor, incluso de compartir tu vida o promover tu carrera de la forma más moderna pero también puede ser la que te dañe tu imagen y provoque fastidio. Cuida tu imagen incluso en tus fotos, si es posible busca fondos limpios, pregúntate que es lo que estas proyectando con lo que publicas. ¿Lo que haces hoy te  esta llevando adonde quieres estar mañana?.

Es inevitable tener una imagen, cuida la tuya. Si tu foto de perfil de facebook , twitter, instagram es una selfie, considera que en esta época tus próximos jefes pueden acceder a tus redes sociales, ¿son esas las fotos que quieres que vean?, si eres independiente buscando una persona que invierta en tus ideas, ¿esa foto llamará la atención de tu posible socio?, incluso si solo estas buscando pareja o no cerrada a esta posibilidad, ¿dice tu foto que eres una persona con la que alguien desearía tener una buena relación?. Si no es este el caso es fácil tomarse 100 selfies más y cambiar las erróneas actuales por unas que valgan la pena y dejen ver lo que realmente quieres que vean de ti, acordes con tu realidad y tu esencia.

Labiales rojizos y naranjas

No puedo utilizar muchas veces estos labiales porque mis labios son muy cuarteados. Sin embargo amo todos los labiales desde los desnudos a los brillantes.

My favorite lip products : most used - well loved.

Since my lips are dry I almost never wear red or fuchsia lips even though I love them. 

So this is going to be a show of my 10 most used lip products, which are mostly nudes peach or pink nudes. 

1. Tarte lipsurgence natural matte lip tint I in "lucky". This is the perfect pink. 

2. Mac frost lipstick "angel". This one I use daily mixed with "lucky" from tarte. This is for me a most have lip product. 

3. Mac "enchanted one" lipstick. This was limited edition but if you can get your hands on it... Get it. It is my favorite I use it a lot and I'm a little scared about it running out of it.

4. Covergirl "delish" lipstick. It is almost a dupe of the last one but it is a little bit glossy and "enchanted one" is a matte.

5. Too faced melted lipstick in "peony" this pink looks amazing solo or with "delish"on top. Cool tone pink makes you look pouty and girly.

6. Too faced melted lipstick in "nude". The perfect nude that's also similar to the other ones that I mentioned also brownie nude not pink not too peachy. It looks glossy at first but it dries to a matte finish and lasts a long time. 

7. Mac "peachstock" lipgloss. This is pro shade from Mac and it is a permanent color lipstick but I think the gloss which is very pigmented was limited edition. You can top every shade I mentioned before with this one and you can tone down every bright lipstick with it too.

8. Colour me beautiful lip gloss in "warm sand" this was a I-stole-this-from-my-mom's-stash-and-will-never-give-it-back. It is a pinky nude lipgloss also very pigmented. 

9. Lime crime "coquette" lipstick 

Becca Powder highlighters

These powders do not need a lot of explanation they are amazing and the swatches don't leave anything to our imagination. The formulation of these is perfect, amazing pigmentation and buttery goodness.

The packaging is not my favorite but it is sturdy and durable... But I have a lot of highliters and without a doubt these are my favorite. 

5 shades are available, I think the "champagne gold" one is a limited edition  shade for the holidays but I haven't seen it going out of stock on the sephora website so if you like it you can still grab it. 

Use a light hand with this product ... Or look like a disco ball. 

Moonstone. The lightest shade... I thought this would be my favorite but even though it isn't it gets your cheekbones high and perfect. 

Opal. My favorite ... Well loved, it is the best highliter I have ever used. Perfection. If you are too fair you can use it on the summer as a blush topper. I'm fair but I don't care it looks amazing and I always get compliments on it when I use it on my clients. 

Topaz. It is the darkest shade. Very beautiful on deep skin tones but as a bronze goddess kind of summer glow it is incredible too... And I have used these as eyeshadows with my fingers and they are incredible. 

Rose gold. This is the latest permanent shade and I like it not as a highlight per se but as a blush topper... If you love Nars Orgasm Bush, you can turn any boring pink, coral or neutral blush into a way better than "orgasm" if you mix it well. 

Champagne gold. Holiday limited edition shade. I haven't played with it a lot and it seems to be too yellow but I think it can be used on a gold look with red lips for Christmas or NYE. The finish is beautiful as well.

SKINCARE: NUEVAS ADICIONES AL CUIDADO DE MI PIEL

 

No había compartido nada porque estaba esperando probar estos productos antes de hablar de ellos. Puedo decir que tenía mis dudas sobre el  "clear days ahead" de Philosophy puesto que, una semana luego de empezar a usarlo me salió un salpullido en el rostro, como estaba probando mas de un nuevo artículo no sabia si era esto y gracias a Dios resultó siendo otra cosa. 

Mi piel es combinación tengo normal en las mejillas y se me pone grasa en la zona T, no sufro de acné pero ocasionalmente mis hormonas me juegan una mala pasada y en la barbilla me salen unos compañeros indeseado, no creo que sea la única a la que le pasa. 

Les comparto entonces estos productos:

1. Clear days ahead by Philosophy (240 ml)

2. Firm peeling gel : gel exfoliant by Peter Thomas Roth (100 ml)

El jabón líquido deben tener cuidado los que reaccionan mal con el ácido salisilico porque es un componente principal, reseca un poquito la piel, peor nada que una hidratante no solucione y en mi rutina hay crema hidratante y según de día y de noche (nunca hay suficientes cuidados con la piel), mejora la oleosidad de mi piel, pero sabemos que los que sufrimos de la grasita en la cara no matifica totalmente igual debemos cargar hojitas de polvo de arroz (blotting sheets) o en su defecto servilletas de Starbucks que son la mejor alternativa 😊 NOT KIDDING y un polvo para retocarnos.

El otro producto es ya mi amor, es un peeling que no estresa la piel de la marca PETER THOMAS ROTH, la textura es en gel y deja la piel suavecita, se ve como remueve piel muerta cuando lo estamos usando y se ve la limpieza del rostro posterior al uso. Se puede usar de 1 a 3 veces por semana dependiendo de la sensibilidad de la piel. En mi caso mi piel no es muy sensible a muchas cosas. Actualmente tengo dos semanas usándolo dos veces a la semana y si no tengo tiempo de un facial esto es lo mejor en un apuro. 

Ambos productos los compre en Sephora y les doy 8 y 10 estrellas.
